The Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS), part of the National University of Singapore, is a leading center for photovoltaic research in Southeast Asia. In July 2022, a researcher from SERIS approached LIB with a request for specialized equipment to perform:
- Salt spray corrosion testing for evaluating PV module durability in harsh environments
- Double 85 testing (85°C & 85% RH) for accelerated reliability assessment
- Compatibility with large-size solar PV panels
From Inquiry to Contract
To accommodate the oversized panels, LIB's engineering team designed a customized salt spray test chamber that met both technical and dimensional requirements. Key milestones included:
July 2022 – Inquiry received from SERIS with detailed test and size requirements
October 2022 – Proposal accepted; competitive bidding process commenced
January 2023 – LIB awarded the contract and began production

Factory Acceptance and Testing
By July 2023, manufacturing was complete. The SERIS team visited LIB's facility to:
Inspect the finished chamber's construction and finish
Conduct two days of continuous, non-stop testing
Verify test accuracy, stability, and chamber reliability
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with praise for both performance and build quality.
Overcoming a Site Challenge
Before shipment, SERIS revealed a major installation obstacle: their lab entrance was only 1.5 meters wide, much narrower than the chamber's body. LIB responded by:
Sending a Southeast Asia Service Center team for on-site measurements
Redesigning the chamber into three modular sections for easier transport
Reassembling and securing the chamber inside the laboratory without performance compromise
